TERT Deployment Awareness Training Announcement: Monroe County (Rochester, NY)

The first TERT Deployment Awareness class of 2014 will be held at the Emergency Communications Department in Rochester, NY (Monroe County): pre-requisites for attendance are completion of FEMA's IS-100 and IS-700 online classes. The TERT Deployment Awareness class will be held on Tuesday April 29, 2014 from 0800-1600. Formal class announcement will follow shortly. Final TERT training sessions of 2013 - Allegany County in November

We still have several openings remaining in the final TERT training sessions of 2013.

Sponsored by Allegany County 911, the "Deployment Awareness" and "Team Leader" classes are being held at the Allegany County 911 Center on November 14th and 15th respectively. The center is located at 4884 State Route 19, Amity, NY 14813

As always, the classes are being provided FREE OF CHARGE to staff members of New York State based PSAP's and Emergency Communications Centers.

President Declares Disaster for New York

WASHINGTON, D.C. 
 
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency announced that federal disaster aid has been made available to the State of New York to supplement state and local recovery efforts in the area affected by severe storms and flooding during the period of June 28 to July 4, 2013.
 
The President's action makes federal funding available to state and eligible local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the severe storms and flooding in Allegany, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Franklin, Herkimer, Madison, Montgomery, Niagara, Oneida, Otsego, and Warren counties.
 
Federal funding is also available on a cost-sharing basis for hazard mitigation measures statewide.
