All of New York State is going to be impacted....

All of New York State is now in the "Red Zone"....TERT personnel from around New York State are on stand by, preparing for deployment. 375,000 people in NYC's Zone A are under an evacuation order. Blizzard warnings have also been issued for portions of upstate NY on Wednesday. We'll do our best to keep you updated.

At the request of New York State TERT Coordinator Merklinger; New York State PSAP and Emergency COMM Center Directors and Managers, please send your agency's TERT trained dispatcher(s) availability to D. Jeremy DeMar at ddemar@monroecounty.gov as soon as possible - No requests for assistance have been made at this point, this request is simply preparatory in nature. Once compiled, these numbers will be forwarded to the NYS EOC. For those who are unaware, New York State has activated its EOC in Albany.

Just a quick reminder about upcoming TERT training sessions, coming to a county near you:


November 2, 2012 - TERT Basic Awareness Class - Emergency Communications Department (City of Rochester/County of Monroe) - A few openings remain for this session; only a few weeks away. E-mail ASAP if you'd like to attend!

November 13, 2012 - TERT Basic Awareness Class - Westchester County Department of Emergency Services - Valhalla, NY - This session is nearly full and will be closing soon.

November 14, 2012 - TERT Team Leader Class - Westchester County Department of Emergency Services - Valhalla, NY - This session is nearly full and will be closing soon.

December 6, 2012 - TERT Basic Awareness Class - Warren County Communications, Lake George, NY - Plenty of openings available in this recently announced session.

December 7, 2012 - TERT Team Leader Class - Warren County Communications, Lake George, NY - Plenty of openings available in this recently announced session.

These will be the final TERT training sessions for 2012. If you've been thinking about getting your agency involved in the TERT initiative, please consider attending or sending your staff members to one (or more) of these sessions. All training is being provided FREE OF CHARGE to staff members of New York State PSAP's and Emergency Communications Centers.
